Christians from all denominations in Dimapur, participated at a Prayer Rally titled “Heal Our Land” organised by Christian Forum Dimapur (CFD), Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) including Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) at Naga Shopping Arcade here Sunday afternoon.
The programme was to hold prayer solidarity and pray for various issues of common concern such as- persecutions of Christians in India ; well being of the Nation, the State and its leaders and also for free, fair and clean election.
CFD vice-chairman Rev Vitoshe Swu called for prayer for the persecuted minority religious groups, particularly Christians in India. CFD treasurer Nini Sekhose led the prayer for the India and its leaders, including political leaders, heads of constitutional and judiciary, heads of defence and bureaucrats, etc.
CFD adviser Rev Dr P. Dozo prayed for State’s political leaders, clean, free and fair election, while CFD adviser Fr Chacko Karinthayil led the prayer for young generation of the nation and state.
The closing remarks was delivered by CFD adviser Rev L Kari Longchar in which he asked all Christians to come together to uphold the principle of justice and equality and to support one another as they live in an environment often hostile to their beliefs.
The programme was chaired by CFD chairman Rev.Moses Murry while praise and worship was led by Golden Crown Theological College, followed by an invocation by Adviser CFD Rev.N.Tzudir, introduction by Rev.Dr.N.Paphino/ Later vote of thanks was offered by CFD secretary Fr.Dr.P.C.Anto.
The programme ended with a closing song “Onward Christian Soldiers” and a closing prayer proposed by DPWU president Khontele Seb.
