KVYO assists KVC for conduct of free and fair polls

Polling in Kohima village under 10 Northern Angami-I constituency was by and large peaceful. This was facilitated by the Kohima Village Council (KVC), as per its resolution on February 6, 2023 for ensuring a clean, free and fair elections ensured and to prevent proxy voting from being indulged at any of the polling stations under KVC jurisdiction. In this regard, KVC also entrusted Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) to man all the polling stations and oversee the conduct of a smooth and peaceful polling. According to reports received, the student volunteers ensured not only peaceful conduct of polls but also assisted elderly and needy persons who went to cast votes. In this regard, D.Khel Council chairman , who was overseeing the second largest polling station under 10 Northern Angami-I AC at D.Khel ground, said all volunteering at the polling booths were done by students and youths without any polling agents from any of the candidates. He pointed that polling was largely peaceful because of the obedience displayed by the two candidates and their agents.
Khezhie also disclosed that no posters or banners were also displayed or put up to deface any public property during this election.
