Tseminyu Students’ Union (TSU) and Tesophenyu Group Public Union (TGPU) Central have vehemently condemned the alleged “inhumane, physical assault” and an attempted to “murder” Yhuntilo Kent on April 18 night at Tseminyu Town by unidentified miscreants.
TSU president, Shyeruhun Tep in a condemnation note expressed anguish on the “barbaric act” by some antisocial elements to one of its senior leader and member Yhuntilo Kent.
Tep said that the incident which took place near the educational institutions filled with students have caused trauma and fear psychosis in the young minds.
Maintaining that Tseminyu Town was known for its peaceful co- existence and stability, the union said such act of inhumane and barbarism should be condemned by all the right thinking people as it was a threat to all the peace loving people in the town and beyond. The union therefore appealed to the law enforcing agencies to immediately arrest and punish the unwanted antisocial elements so that peace and normalcy return to Tseminyu town.
TGPU: In a condemnation note, TGPU president, Phanishe Chung and vice president, Kenneth Woch said that such act of blatant cruelty cannot be tolerated and warned that those involved in the crime should not try to escape but admit their crime in the interest of all.
The union also appealed to the law enforcing agency to apprehend the culprit at the earliest and award punishment so that the victim gets justice.
Meanwhile, the union also strongly condemned the “barbaric act by a group of Tseminyu youth for looting cash, vandalising the house and property” of Velhoulie Magh of Tesophenyu village at Tseminyu town on April 19 on the “ground of suspicion” that some of his family members or acquaintances have committed physical assault on Yhuntilo Kent.
TGPU said that the “violent action and high handiness” by a group of Tseminyu youth was crime and deserved to be condemned. The union expressed dismay on the inaction of the law enforcing agency and for remaining mute spectator and “allowing the group of youth to perform all kinds of crime in their presence”.
TGPU said that after the April 18 night incident, the law enforcing agency imposed 144CrPC on April 19 morning from 6 am. However, the union alleged that the youths were allowed to gather leading to vandalism. The union said that the incident could have been averted had the security personnel acted as per 144 CrPC imposed.
Therefore, the union has also condemned the action of the law enforcing agency and appealed to the concerned authority to investigate the matter and take disciplinary action against erring officers and personnel. The union also demanded that the youths involved in the crime be apprehended as they cannot take law into their hand.
