SP Longleng Dr Kaur bags Inspirational Woman in Social Impact Award

A 2016-batch IPS officer, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, posted as SP Longleng has been awarded as the “Inspirational Woman in Social Impact Award” by the 4th International Inspirational Women Awards (IIWA)-2023 on June 17 at Delhi.
The award is an international initiative by the GISR Foundation to recognize and honour individuals with exceptional calibre, outstanding performance, and extraordinary talent as a researcher, academicians, mentors, advisors, trainers, and thought leaders.
On receiving the award, Dr. Kaur said it was encouraging for officers like her, who work with least logistics and resources even at far flung areas.
“There were lot many challenges and still are, but as the saying goes: (No matter how dark the night is, sun always shine) and for which I feel no matter how big challenges are, hard work and honesty is always paid by Lord”, Dr. Kaur said.
She described the people of Nagaland as loving and loved to work with them.
“Nagas are self-sufficient tribes and very talented in all fields, I am just helping them to polish their own talent. They are so rich in culture and traditions. We just admire them” she said.
She said that the only thing the people lacked behind was lack of opportunities in few domains.
Apart from performing her duty as police officer, Dr. Kaur has taken up many social and welfare activities for the local populace in those districts whenever she was posted.
The activities include, free coaching classes, livelihood training to drug addicts and counselling, career guidance to students, training in farming, biodiversity and environment protection, war against drugs, formation of SHGs, education at all the levels, promotion of sports etc.
