A three-day training on “introduction to Christian counselling” organised by Insight Institute of Christian Counselling (IICC) Sovima, Chümoukedima culminated on July 15.
A press release by IICC stated that the training was organised in response to an increasing need for faith-based counselling training programmes in the State.
Some key concepts taught included the basics of Christian counselling, basic skills in Christian counselling, Christian counselling vs. secular counselling, skills to identify client issues, and referral skills. The trainers Dr. Yehoto Swu Kiho and Nighatoli Achumi, founders of IICC.
A total of 14 trainees from different sectors such full-time Church ministry, law and psychology graduates, school teachers, and entrepreneurs, from Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Kohima, and Tseminyu districts attended the training.
