Team Nagaland has won 9 medals at the 10th North East Zone Shooting Championship 2023 organized by the Shooting Association of Meghalaya (SAM) at the shooting ranges, Assam Regimental Centre, Shillong, Meghalaya from August 20 to 27.
Altogether 227 shooters from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland participated at the championship wherein Assam was adjudged the overall champion.
Altogether, 17 shooters from Nagaland participated at the Championship and bagged 9 medals.
Seven shooters from Nagaland have qualified to participate at the 66th National Shooting Championship Competitions (NSCC) 2023 during November/December 2023.
The 11th North East Zone Shooting Championship (NEZSC) 2024 has been declared to be held in Nagaland, organised by Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy, Khelo India Centre, Dimapur conducted by Nagaland Rifle Association under the aegis of National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).
Yimyakumla bagged 3 medals: Silver in 10M Air Rifle Sub Youth Women Individual, bronze in 10M Air Rifle Youth Women Individual and bronze in 10M Air Rifle Junior Women Individual.
Imnanungsang Tzudir bagged 2 medals: silvers in 10M Air Pistol Sub Youth Men Individual and 10M Air Pistol Youth Men Individual. Neizo Belho bagged silver in 10M Air Pistol Men Individual. Lanu Rongsenkaba Jamir bagged 2 medals: silvers in 10M Air Pistol Master Men Individual and 25M Standard Pistol Master Men Individual and Lanu Akumtoshi Jamir bagged bronze in 50M Rifle P.S Prone Master Men Individual.
