End of an Era, a club based in Kohima launches their football jersey for the upcoming 23rd NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy 2023 scheduled to begin from Monday evening at IG Stadium Kohima.
The club ‘End of an Era’ is a squad of Nagaland senior football team that have come together to play for one last time together at the NSF Trophy, where many of the footballers will be hanging up their boots with the tournament.
Nagaland Football Association President & AIFF Executive member K. Neibou Sekhose officially launched the jersey at 2K Hotel Kohima on Saturday evening. In his speech, Sekhose acknowledged the contribution of the senior footballers towards Nagaland Football. He hoped that the club will inspire the younger generation through their participation and give back to the society with what they have learned over the years.
He hoped the footballers can become a coach, mentor or referee thereafter, so that younger generation will follow footsteps to complete in the district, state and national levels.
The program was attended by Kohima District Football Association president Matthew Yhome and chief of referees Kutu Sekhose. The program was led by Kiyakhrienuo Solo, invocation by Temjen Ao, special song by Vivonuo Belho and Moko Koza.
According to an update from the club, the team comprises of mostly veteran players with an aim to compete in the competitive tournament before retirement. “It’s a mixed squad both young and old players” stated the club’s press release.
