In a proud moment for Nagaland, Nagaland athletes– Kitenlo K. Thono and Liike Kibami won the gold and silver medals respectively in Tanding category in Pencak Silat at the ongoing 37th National Games being held in Goa.
In a post on X, Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio congratulated Kitenlo for the historic achievement.
“Congratulations to Mr. Kitenlo K. Thono for winning the individual Gold Medal in the 90-95 Kg Tanding Fight Category in Pencak Silat at the National Games in Goa.
This is a historic achievement and he has made entire Nagaland proud and joyous,” Rio said in his post on X. In another post, Rio said: “Second Medal for Nagaland. Congratulations to Nagaland’s Ms. Liike Kibami for winning her second medal at the National Games in Goa. She wins Silver Medal in Tanding category in Pencak Silat.” It may be mentioned that Nagaland won its first medal at the 37th National Games on Saturday.
The Nagaland women’s Pencak Silat team won the bronze medal in the women’s Regu category. The team members included– Liike Kibami, Hinokali and Avikali V. Sheqi.
