Construction of Nagaland House Navi Mumbai, which was completed in 2010, has finally been made functional.
NPF Legislature Party leader and chairman on the Committee on Government Assurances, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Neinu along with advisor Land Resources G Ikuto Zhimomi and others were currently in Mumbai to inspect the state guest house.

In a post on X, Nignsang Jamir, head of digital marketing FatakPay said “The long wait for an operational Nagaland House in Mumbai has finally come to an end. The arduous process of navigating through excessive red tape and dealing with various government regulatory agencies and courtrooms is now behind us.” Nignsang also posted pictures of the committee members with other Nagas living in Mumbai.

It may be noted that Nagaland house could not be made operational since the building was constructed without obtaining Coastal Regulation Zone permission from Navi Mumbai Corporation prior to commencement of the construction, for which Occupancy Certificate for the completed project was not issued.
It was learnt that the Mumbai Nagaland House has reportedly been leased to a private firm to manage and maintain the House.

It may be recalled that deputy chief minister Y. Patton during his visit in 2018 maintained that once the Nagaland House was made functional, the State government would give preference to the student community, sick and needy people.
