Officials inspect ongoing NH road works

A joint inspection team headed by deputy commissioner (DC) Kumar Ramnikant on Saturday inspected the National Highway roads and urban roads in Kohima. The team inspected the Kohima-Dimapur four lane package-III work, Kohima-bypass, Kohima-Mao and Kohima town roads.


During the inspection, where SP, RO, EE NPWD (NH), EE NPWD (R&B), EE (Urban), EE (KSDCL), NHIDCL and contractors were also present, uneven surfaces, unkempt foliages were observed and flagged by the team to NHIDCL and NPWD respectively, including installations of sinages and line markings.


DC also advised NHIDCL and NPWD to ensure comfortable and safe ride quality for all NH roads from Kiruphema to Khuzama, keeping in mind the forthcoming Hornbill Festival.
DC also highlighted the dilapidate bridge at Peducha Dzudza and other minor bridges along Kohima-Mao road. The team also visited the sinking zones at various locations.


Clearing of soil, mud, rocks debris and beautification of National highway was also impressed upon NHIDCL and NPWD.
The team also visited the ongoing Kohima bypass tunnel construction and T. Khel model village road connecting NH 39 (Old) to NH 61 (Old).


Traffic management and alternated routes for easing traffic congestion particularly during the Hornbill festival were also explored and verified by the SP Kohima.
