NST Cricket Club, BBC Cricket Club won their respective matches to progress to the next round at the ongoing 28th Winter Cricket Challenge organised by Senior Noble Klan under the aegis of Nagaland Cricket Association in association with Wokha Forest Division in Wokha.
In the first match, NST Cricket Club defeated WDCA CC by a huge margin of 137 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets.
Having won the toss and elected to bat first, the NST CC set a target of 188 runs losing just 1 wicket in 20 overs with a contribution from Mhondamo 82 and Santsuthung Ngullie 83. Chasing the target, the WDCA CC struggled with just one player reaching the double figure mark from Chuponthung who scored 10 runs and lost the match. Santsuthung Ngullie was adjudged the Man of the Match for his 83 runs knock.
In the second match, BBC Cricket Club won the match by 7 wickets in the 17 overs. Mavericks CC won the toss and elected to bat first and set a target of 121 runs, all out in 20 overs. Lirenthung Murry, who came in as the opening batsman scored 59 runs, Tsenpon 13 and Renchio Odyuo 14.
While chasing the target, Yanrenthung Ngullie who came in as the opener scored 17 runs and Kudan, the first down batsman scored a quick fire of 75 runs and secured a spot for the team. Kundan was adjudged the Man of the Match for his 75 runs knock.
