Nagaland Governor La Ganesan, chief minister Neiphiu Rio and deputy CM Y. Patton have extended Sökrönye festival greetings to the Chakhesang community. In his message, Ganesan said that the Sökrönye is a harvest festival and the essence of this beautiful festival is the sanctification and bringing forth blessing and unity amongst all the Community members.
“May the spirit of Sökrönye bring warmth, happiness and harmony as we celebrate the rich traditions and cultural heritage of the Chakhesang tribe,” he said and wished all good health, peace and prosperity.
CM: In a post on X, Rio hoped that the festival of sanctification and purification bring blessings of fruitfulness in the year ahead. “I wish you all a happy Sükrünye,” he said.
Dy.CM: In his message, Dy. CM Y Patton said that the festival was an auspicious occasion where young and old come out to celebrate by feasting and merry making. Patton, on behalf of the state BJP legislators, conveyed heartiest festive greetings and hope that it is celebrated with joy and happiness.
