Yongnyah Town Baptist Church (YTBC) celebrated its “39th church foundation” on January 20 under the theme, “You are a chosen people,” with Longleng Town Baptist Church (LTBC) associate pastor, H. Mongngoi as the speaker. According to a DIPR report, in his message, Mongngoi encouraged the church to continually commit to spiritual growth, community service, and unity.
He said YTBC foundation day should serve as both a poignant reflection on the church’s journey and a rallying call for a future guided by unwavering faith and purpose. In his speech, Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Longleng headquarters, Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak P emphasised the essence of the church as the body of Christ, transcending physical structures.
He called on the congregation to actively engage in community building, provide support in mental and emotional realms, offer spiritual guidance, and take a stand against societal ills. The service was attended by pastors from various churches, village council chairmen, VCMs, GBs and elders from Yongnyah and neighbouring villages.
The chairperson was D. Nganan, invocation by Phonglang, Catechist of Holy Cross Church Yongnyah Pastor N. Pongkup delivered the welcome address, performances by Doije and Changnyei and prayer for the founding members and their families by YTBA women pastor, Moiom.
