In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election, 2024 a one day training session for the Sector Magistrates was conducted at DC Conference Hall, Mokokchung and Wokha on February 2. A DIPR report informed that Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe delivered the welcome address while Assistant Election Officer, Mokokchung, Renben Mozhui gave a short briefing on the functions of sector officers to ensure a smooth and efficient electoral process. He also dwelt on the necessity to organize awareness programmes on EVM demonstration and SVEEP.


Mesutoba Ao, Assistant Prof., Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung and Wabang Mollier, PGT, Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung were the Master Trainers.
WOKHA: The training of Sector Magistrates, Sector Commanders and flagging off EVM demonstration van was held at Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, Wokha on February 2.


A DIPR report informed that at the training, Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan flagged off the EVM mobile demonstration van.
He informed that the reason behind the training was to raise awareness and confidence as to how EVM machine works that will be covered in all the polling stations across the district. DC also requested to give/submit reports of the demonstration done.


Briefing about their roles and responsibilities, Deputy Commissioner appealed all magistrates and commanders to check and ensure that minimum facilities like toilets, water supply, electricity and rams were available in all the polling stations and urged them to work in co-ordination with the respective BLO’s.


He also reminded them to prepare a proper route map to enable them to reach the polling stations from their dispatch centre and create awareness about C-vigilance in all the polling stations.
He further appealed all concerned officers to start the vulnerability mapping and ensure all activities as per laid down protocol were to be completed as per the schedule.


He also informed about the facilities of voters registration and other queries and grievances to be generated through Wokha Saathi Chat box, where the following number 700557723 can be contacted and also the availability of helpline number 1950.
Before the flagging off the EVM demonstration Van, hands-on EVM demonstration was given to the sector magistrates and sector commanders.
