Kezhaseluo-o is NASA wrestling champ

25-year-old Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü from Kohima village representing group-A, emerged as the winner of the 65th Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) wrestling during the meet held at Kohima village ground, Ziekezou, here on Wednesday.
In the final match, defending champion Kezhaseluo-o, overpowered 25-year-old, Menuosetuo Yiese, also from Kohima village, to retain the title which carried a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh and the champion’s belt.


In the third-place match, Vizakietuo Suohu from Kohima village defeated Neizosetuo Kire, also from Kohima village to emerged as the winner. The second, third and fourth position holders walked away with cash prizes of Rs. 80,000, Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 40,000 respectively while the quarter finalists received Rs. 5,000 each.


In the semi-final round, Menuosetuo Yiese defeated Neizosetuo Kire, while Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü bested Vizakietuo Suohu.
In the quarter final round, Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü defeated Keviser Dzüvichü, Vizakietuo Suohu defeated Vaphizo Rutsa, Neizosetuo Kire defeated Mharavizo Kesiezie and Menuosetuo Yiese defeated Khrielabeituo Semou.


A total of 15 players were shortlisted to represent NASA in the upcoming Angami Sports Association wrestling meet scheduled to be held next month. Earlier, the inaugural programme was held with special assistant to CM, Vibeilietuo Kets as the special guest and president NAPO, Keduo-o Zumu as the guest of honour.
