KVK Dimapur conducts trg for extension functionaries

One day training on “Quality seed production techniques of major cereal crops” for extension functionaries working under department of agriculture, Chümoukedima was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dimapur at KVK Conference Hall, Thursday.
A press release by KVK Dimapur stated that the special invitee, head of regional centre, ICAR, Nagaland Centre, Dr. Homeswar Kalita shared about the status, scope and prospects of quality seed production.


In the technical session, senior scientist and head shared about the KVK activities, mandates and objectives, Dr. Phool Kumari while scientist (genetics and plant breeding), ICAR, Nagaland centre, Dr. Harendra Verma spoke at length about the quality seed production techniques of rice and seed certification procedures.


Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dimapur, Chief technical officer (genetics and plant breeding), Dr. Bendangla Imsong, delivered lecture on the various techniques involved in the quality seed production of maize while KVK, Dr. Moanaro gave a talk on the management of major pests of rice and maize. In a valedictory session, district agriculture officer, Bodevi Shuya urged all the officials of agri and allied departments and KVK to work in convergence for the upliftment of farming community.


The programme was chaired by Dr. Bendangla Imsong and vote of thanks was delivered by chief technical officer (animal science), Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dimapur, Dr. Ebibeni Ngullie. Altogether 25 officials attended the training programme.
