Col. C.K Nayudu Trophy: Nagaland beat Arunachal by 148 runs

Nagaland beat Arunachal Pradesh by 148 runs at the ongoing Col. C.K Nayudu Trophy (Men’s U23) Plate group semi-final at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Anand. Nagaland qualified for the final and will play against Meghalaya from February 18 to 21 at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima.


Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Nagaland in its 1st innings scored 171 runs and got all out with Afzal top scoring with 81 runs (Not Out) while Hem 20 runs, Tohuka 16 runs and Samuel Zaputou 16 runs were the other contributors to the tally.
For the Arunachal bowling unit, Amarjeet Sharma took 3 wickets and K Jangra 2 wickets while Dol, Techi, Mibom and Leki took 1 wicket each.


Arunachal had a dream start as they scored 219 runs to take the 1st innings lead with Prince Yadav scoring 69 runs, Amarjeet Sharma 63 runs and T Sania 23 runs (Not out). For team Nagaland, Hem with 4 wickets, Raja 3 wickets, Neizekho 2 wickets and Dip 1 wicket were the successful bowlers.


Nagaland 2nd innings was sparked with 290 runs as Hem led his side with 139 runs while Tohuka 77 runs, Afzal 25 runs, Mughavi 17 runs and Sujal 17 runs contributed for a worthy total on the board for Arunachal to chase down. R Jangra with 4 wickets was the pick of the bowlers for the Arunachal side, while Dol and Techi also claimed 3 and 2 wickets respectively.


Chasing 242 for a win, Arunachal got all out on 94 runs as Neizekho rattled the Arunachal batting order with a 5 wickets haul while Hem took 2 wickets and Raja pocketed 1 wicket for Nagaland to win by 148 runs and set up a final date with Meghalaya.
Vishek Kumar with 29 runs and Prince Yadav 18 runs were the only notable run scorers for the Arunachal side.
