DC & DEO Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant has notified that in connection with the ensuing general election to the 18th Lok Sabha, 2024, a District Level Standing Committee (DLSC) for Model Code of Conduct has been constituted. The following were the members of the committee: DC & DEO Kohima as Convener and Superintendent of Police, Kohima; EAC (Estt.) & Nodal Officer (MCC); All AROs Kohima district; Administrator KMC; EEM Nodal Officer; president & General Secretary of BJP/DCC/ NPP/NDPP/ NPF; president, Angami Public Organization; president, Angami Miapfu Mechu Krotho (AMK); president, Angami Youth Organisation and Assistant Election Officer as members of the committee.
DC informed that the committee will meet from time to time, as and when required to discuss issues relating to free, fair and peaceful conduct of Lok Sabha election.The committee will also ensure that MCC has been strictly adhere by all political parties, contesting candidates, government departments and general public from the day the Commission announces the election till the election process ends.
Meanwhile, DC in another notification informed that the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) has also been constituted with DC & DEO, Kohima as chairman and AROs of all Assembly Segments under Kohima district; Asonuo, IIS, News Editor AIR Kohima and DPRO Kohima as MCMC members.
MCMC shall be responsible for certification of advertisement and will also monitor both print and electronic media including cable networks and record either in CD or DVD/keep photocopy of all advertisements/paid news/election related news of the contesting candidates/political parties for Kohima district.
