A marketing shed and Highway Amenity Centre, constructed under the Local Area Development Program (LADP) 2019-2020 and 2021-2022, were inaugurated at Dzüdza Village and Kezanu, Jotsoma respectively on March 9. Speaking at the inaugural programme as the special guest, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) administrator, T. Lanusenla Longkumer Peseyie, said the marketing shed would benefit the farmers of the villages, who have made significant progress in the agricultural sector.

She also noted that the amenity centre would not only cater to the needs of the citizens of Kohima but of the travellers as well.
Speaking at the programme, ex-MLA, Keneizhakho Nakhro, who initiated the projects, said the main purpose of the marketing shed was to provide a platform for farmers to sell their products.

Nakhro said the amenity centre was constructed to address the water scarcity problem and to provide a place where people could have access to water, as well as facilities for washing, bathing and toilets. He said the centre has a rainwater harvest reservoir.

The inaugural programme organised by the village councils of Jotsoma Village and Dzüdza Village was chaired by the JVC chairman, Rüdolie Nagi. A prayer was said by CRC Jotsoma Pastor Revi Gwirie while DVC chairman, Keneilekho Senotsu, delivered the welcome address.
