June 22 to be working Saturday, June 26 paid holiday

In view of the forthcoming Municipal and Town Council elections, Governor of Nagaland has declared June 22 (4th Saturday) as working day only for those offices/departments engaged in election works under Municipal/Town council areas.


Further, the government has declared June 26 (polling day) as paid holiday for all state government employees in the Municipal/Town council areas of the districts going to polls to enable them to participate and exercise their franchise.

This also applies to all categories of employees ordinarily residing in one area but having the place of work in another area. It also declared the polling day as paid holiday for all employees of banks and financial institutions in the Municipal/Town council areas under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Act, XXVI) to enable them to exercise their franchise.
