Chess coaching camp for children begins

A two-day Chess coaching camp for children has kicked off with grand opening programme at Afuko Building Akuvuto on Thursday 2024 with 100 Sunday school children across WSBAK churches.


The coaching camp is an initiative of Sumi Chess Association Nagaland (SCAN) in collaboration with Department of Christian Education Ministry, WSBAK, marking of Sumi Chess Association Nagaland 25 years of its inception which is due to celebrate on August 2025.


The welcoming address and the prayer for participants was led by secretary DoCEM WSBAK, Jesse K Yeptho, and advisor SCAN, Dr. Inazhe Phuleshe exhorted the children.
He also urged the children to learn something about everything but at least have mastery over one thing and make it a lifelong patience to shine for church, society and self.


General secretary SCAN Mughato K Kiba introduced the chess teachers and SCAN members and AICF joint secretary, Mughaho Awomi highlighted the importance of chess and declared the chess coaching camp. Besides chess coaching camp children are also learning Bibles and other spiritual food in the morning and evening.
