Konyak Union (Myanmar) has informed that it “successful” undertook “consultative peace mission trips” in the entire eastern Myanmar Konak jurisdiction with every Naga national workers/group from August 10-15, 2024.
In a press release, KU (M) president PM Aman and general secretary K Akham Honwang informed that the trips were undertaken after holding consultative meeting with KU Mon apex body on August 9, 2024.
KU (M) has appealed to all Naga national workers/leaders to maintain peace and unity as well as uphold the pledge “Nagaland for Christ”.
The union also expressed gratitude to all Naga national workers for heeding the appeal made by public for peace and agreeing to live in peaceful coexistence with each other in the future. KU (M) said the leaders also expressed their willingness to forgive and forget to each other.
Meanwhile, KU (M) also appreciated “maj. gen” (retd) Ang Mai-led NSCN (K) for its decision to initiate formal peace talks with both governments of India and Myanmar.
KU (M) said eastern Konyak people appreciated the wisdom of NSCN(K) president “maj. gen.” (retd) Ang Mai, vice president Nyeiton and general secretary Kughalu Mulatuno for acknowledging the conditions of civilians as well as safeguarding Naga national cause.
It said that eastern Konyak public want the leaders to hold peace talks, which should be implemented in entire Konyak area in particular and Eastern Naga soil in general without bias.
