In a thrilling exhibition match held at Indira Gandhi Stadium, the Chakhroma Students Union (CSU) emerged as the champions of the 2nd edition of the four-range football tournament organized by the Angami Students Union. The event saw spirited participation from the four ranges under ASU including NASU, SASU, WASU and CSU.
The final match, which kicked off at noon, was graced by former president of SASU and former deputy speaker of the Angami Students Union, Teisovi Thorie, as special guest. Mhalevilie Medoze, Assembly Secretary of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), attended the event as the honoured guest.
CSU secured the top spot in the tournament, while SASU claimed the 1st runners-up position. Among the standout performers of the day was Rokozelie Sechü from CSU, who took home the coveted Golden Boot award. David Mere of NASU was named the Player of the Day, with Rokozokho from WASU earned the title of Best Defender.
Mhalevilie Medoze of CSU was recognized for his outstanding performance as Best Goalkeeper and received the Golden Gloves award. Zayiekhotuo Sale of SASU was named Best Coach for his commendable leadership throughout the competition. The event concluded on a high note as participants and spectators joined in singing the traditional chorus “Ara Kezivi,” leaving an air of camaraderie and unity among the students.
