Nagaland: MBC theme song for 125 years released

Mopungchuket Baptist Church (MBC) will be celebrating quasquicentennial on December 27-28, 2025. In anticipation of its 125-year celebration of Christianity in the village, theme song titled “Tsüngrem Nükjang Yimti” was released by Temsuchuba Jamir, SDO(C), Mokokchung on September 22.


During the release, Temsuchuba Jamir called upon the villagers to reflect on the divine blessings bestowed upon them over the past 125 years since the arrival of Christianity in the village. He urged the community to celebrate the blessings with gratitude and to prayerfully await the celebration.


Lender Jamir, the convener of the quasquicentennial planning committee, said that the song was composed with the objective of prayerfully anticipating the upcoming celebration. He added that the song serves as an ideal medium to proclaim the quasquicentennial year and said that it was a living testament that will endure. Through this song, the church aims to convey the significance of the quasquicentennial year to all villagers and their families and in-laws around the world. He also acknowledged the contributions of lyricist S Wati Ozukum and music arranger Enyar Jamir, as well as the singers Metet Jamir, Naroti Jamir, Temsu Aichanger, and Enyar Jamir.
