Nagaland: Wokha village gate inaugurated

MLA of 38 Assembly Constituency, Wokha, Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe inaugurated the Wokha village gate at Ratssiphen Wokha Village on Tuesday.


The gate was dedicated by Wokha Village Baptist Church pastor, Rev O. Thungben Kikon.
In his speech, Y.M. Humtsoe expressed gratitude to the people of Wokha village for their unwavering support, especially during the construction of the village gate.
He thanked the landowners, CSOs, and various other bodies for their continuous assistance in advancing the village’s development.


He highlighted that these efforts and beautifications were made in anticipation of the upcoming jubilees in the village. As part of the program, 40 newly installed streetlights and paver blocks from Ngashen Fishery to the Welcome Gate (NH-2) were also inaugurated.
Humtsoe said that those improvements marked significant progress in enhancing infrastructure, while also prioritizing the safety and comfort of the villagers.


Humtsoe added that the village’s beautification efforts were carried out in anticipation of the upcoming jubilees to be held in the village. He appreciated the architect of the gate, Lijan Odyuo for his commendable work, and to all who contributed to the project’s success.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Wokha and also the Convener Committee for implementation of LADP, Renpomo Ezung, congratulated the village on the new gate and commended the judicious use of the Local Area Development Programme funds in its construction.


He acknowledged that while LADP funds were often misused in Nagaland, Wokha village set an exemplary standard by utilising the funds to good use.


Meanwhile, Wokha Village Council chairman Vandan Erui, along with CSOs and the public, expressed gratitude and appreciation to Y.M. Humtsoe for his consistent support toward the village and community. The programme was chaired by Wokha Village Chairman Vandan Erui, invocation by Asst. pastor Wokha Village Baptist Church Nongothung Kikon, and benediction by Asst. Pastor Wokha Village Baptist Church Chibenthung Humtsoe.
