GPRN/NSCN (U) has expressed strong condemnation on what it termed as “false propaganda unleashed by N Kitovi Zhimomi”, in staking “tall claims” that senior ranks of Naga Army are in his fold.
GPRN/NSCN (U) through its MIP claimed that “two major generals, brigadier and colonel joining him did not arise under any circumstances”, as they were retirees from active Naga Army service since 2019 and 2021. MIP said only those whose identification cards had been cancelled were with Kitovi. It also claimed that all other senior ranks in political and military service remain with GPRN/NSCN (U).
On the statement purportedly issued by 190 Naga army personnel who had announced allegiance to Kitovi, MIP said it was “ fabricated for creating an illusion to the Naga public” to send a wrong message to the Central government.
Further MIP said the allegation by Kitovi that ‘gen.’ Samson Aye and ‘maj. gen.’ Hotoi Aye had plotted the April 21 coup, was “ unethical”. MIP said that the president of the GPRN/NSCN(U), had, in exercising the power vested by yehzabo had ordered national tatar hoho speaker to call an emergency national assembly on April 21, 2024 and in the meeting, the house then unanimously “impeached/expelled Kitovi from GPRN/NSCN (U)”.
Further, MIP said the statement of allegiance to Kitovi, was made just to save Kitovi’s face in the wake of his failure to get recognition for his new group. It said that Kitovi also could not get ceasefire and revalidate the cancelled IDs of his supporters.
MIP also described the statement, projected to have been issued by the rank and file of NSCN (U), as a “goof-up of the entire situation” that aimed to throw dust in the eyes of cadres who innocently rallied behind Kitovi and keep them on hold with high promises.
MIP said that if at all Kitovi was a “tall leader”, then he would not have been impeached or dismissed from GPRN/NSCN (U). Rather, it said, his misuse of office and power was evident from the display of palatial buildings and sophisticated weapons.
MIP/ NSCN (U) mentioned that it is evident that Kitovi made fortification in civilian area with the objectives of running a parallel camp and power centre of his own.
It also said no one is ignorant about what Kitovi had been doing in the recent past on the pretext of being the convener of WC, NNPGs, a position which had given him mileage and cover to execute his designs.
MIP said everything has now surfaced and left open for rest of the world to see the claims of support by top-ranking Naga army officers along with 190 personnel without names and ranks on October 25.
In addition, MIP said the induction of 170 cadres on September 29, had to be read together to realise the “discrepancy” which showed that barely 70 odd uniformed men can be seen flocking around Kitovi as photographic evidence.
MIP also said as the central government had cancelled the IDs of some cadres, the use of rank and status would be in gross violation of existing structure. It also asserted that Kitovi or anyone on his behalf are prohibited from using the name or seal or any kind of identity of GPRN/NSCN(U).
MIP also asked Kitovi to immediately stop meddling in the affairs of the national government, and also declared that if he failed to heed to the gentle warning, then the government-GPRN/NSCN(U)- would have no other option but to expose his misgovernance and corruption with material evidence and which would have serious repercussions.
