Churches in Nagaland observe World Sunday School Day

Churches in Nagaland including, Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church (KLBC), Dimapur Town Nepali Baptist Church Duncan (DTNBCD) and Police Baptist Church (PBC) in Chumoukedima observed World Sunday School Day on November 3.


KLBC: The celebration of World Sunday School Day was observed at Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church with Sunday school children presenting various items.
On the occasion Cherakung Zeliang spoke on the importance of Sunday School for upbringing the children.


Sunday School department of Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church organised different items of presentation in the church such as action song, Bible recitation, group songs etc.


They also presented a gift of acknowledgement to all the Sunday children for their active attendance and obedient. Phungben Kaurintta Sunday school Superintendent presided the world Sunday day Service. KLBC pastor also offered a prayer of blessings for the Children.


DTNBCD: Dimapur Town Nepali Baptist Church Duncan observed the day with a devotional service themed “Growing Stronger and Reaching Higher” (Isaiah 40:31).


The sermon, delivered by Kamal Sharma, youth pastor DTNBC Duncan emphasized spiritual nourishment and outreach. He encouraged the congregation to embrace their faith and strive for excellence.


The program was chaired by Roshni Biswakarma and featured praise and worship led by the Sunday School Ministry, an invocation by Precilla Thapa, and a welcome address by Sarah Gurung, Sunday School teacher.


Women’s Ministry also presented a heartfelt song of praise, and the offering was blessed by Ruth Rai. The Sunday School Ministry performed a special number, showcasing their talents and dedication.


Holy Book was read by Jerusa Thapa (English) and Betsy Lama (Nepali), followed by a cultural dance by the senior group.


Pastor Rajesh Thapa offered a prayer for the children, seeking God’s guidance and protection. The program concluded with a vote of thanks and presentation by Rosy Singh Sunday School teacher and a benediction by Dr. K. Santabir Rai, executive secretary of Association of the Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland.


PBC: Police Baptist Church in Chumoukedima celebrated World Sunday School Day and its annual graduation day on November 3, under the theme, “Empowering to transform”. At the event 30 students from the Teens Class graduated.
