The 3rd Peren District Inter-Village Volleyball Tournament 2024 organised by Peren District witnessed thrilling quarter-final matches as teams battled for a place in the semi-finals on Saturday. The event showcased remarkable skill and competitive spirit from both men’s and women’s teams.
In men’s category, Old Jalukie will face Peletkie A in the first semi-final match at 8 am on November 4. While Azailong will face Tamphung in the second semi-final match at 10 am.
In the women’s category, Peren Town will take on Nsong village in the first semi-final at 8 am and Nsong town will face Nchangram in the second semi-final match at 1 am.
Earlier, in the first quarter final match in the men’s category, Old Jalukie beat Beisumpuiram 25-14, 22-25, 25-23 to book their berth in the semi-final. Old Jalukie fought back after losing the second set, clinching a hard-fought victory in a closely contested final set.
In the second quarter final, Peletkie-A overpowered Tesen 25-11, 25-17 in two straight sets. Peletkie-A dominated the match with impressive teamwork and powerful serves, securing a swift victory.
In the third quarter final, Azailong defeated Ndunglwa-A 25-23, 25-18. Azailong showcased resilience, edging past Ndunglwa-A with a strong performance in both sets.
In the fourth quarter final, Tamphung overcame Peren Town-A 25-12, 25-21. Tamphung established control early, displaying exceptional skills to secure a place in the next round.
In the women’s first quarter final, Peren Town beat Old Jalukie 22-25, 25-14, 25-11. Peren Town made a strong comeback after dropping the first set, demonstrating their prowess with two consecutive set wins.
In the women’s second quarter final match, Nsong Village downed Lalong 25-09, 25-11. Nsong Village displayed overwhelming dominance, securing a straightforward victory with impressive offense.
In the third quarter final, Nchangram Mai beat Beisumpuiram 25-22, 25-22. Nchangram Mai edged out a close match, proving their mettle in tightly contested sets.
In the fourth quarter final, Nsong Town eased past Nzauna 25-19, 25-18. Nsong Town showcased their strength, winning decisively to advance in the tournament.
The tournament continues to draw large crowds, highlighting the growing popularity of volleyball in the region. With thrilling matches still to come, fans eagerly anticipate the semi-finals and the fierce competition that lies ahead.

Second quarter final by Office Assistant, Social Welfare Peren, Isapheing Hegwang; third quarter final by SK, Food & Civil Supplies, Jalukie, Iteisilung Irangbe; and the fourth quarter final by president, Peren Town Women Welfare Organisation, Pelingrangle.
