Manipur emerged victorious in the 68th National School Games U-19 girls’ Sepaktakraw tournament, clinching the championship title at the event held from November 25 to 28 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
Nagaland claimed the runner-up position, while Maharashtra secured third place in the competition. Advisor for School Education, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, graced the valedictory program as the special guest.
In his address, he congratulated all participants for their dedication and lauded the significance of sports in fostering lifelong friendships and camaraderie. He also expressed his hope that the participants would progress to represent India at international levels.
Altogether, 17 teams from across the country participated at the tournament, hosted by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports (DYRS) in collaboration with the School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
The closing ceremony was chaired by additional director of Youth Resources and Sports, Megolhu Dolie. The event also witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including Nagaland Sepaktakraw Association president Ruokuo Kire and SGFI representatives, among others.
