
Minister of Tourism and Higher Education Temjen Imna Along clarified that the state government is not taking any shares from the scholarship, in response to thousands of messages that he received from students asking about their scholarship.
The minister was speaking as the special guest at the inaugural ceremony of Central Plaza (CP) shopping mall and CP Carnival on November 28 at P.R. Hill, Kohima, atop the Multi-Level Parking facility.
In his address, he emphasised the government’s clear and transparent stance on scholarships, stating that there is no room for corruption. He also revealed that they received 75 percent of the second instalment of scholarship and have distributed to all the students assuring that the state government is not taking any shares from those scholarship.
Speaking on the significance of the Hornbill Festival, Along asserted that it is more than just a celebration but an opportunity to build cohesive relationships and showcase local skills on a global platform. By collaborating with countries such as the UK, Peru, and Japan, he underscored the need for fostering growth and cooperation.
The minister pointed out the public outlook to government with negativity and to overcome this, he urged everyone to adopt a consistent work ethic and focus on progress. He encouraged people to dream with a plan, an idea, and determination to expand.
He said that success is measured by the satisfaction of what one does and is not measured by the money or the amount of one’s richness. Along also emphasised the need for youngsters to know the value of a success of a business is commitment, passion, patience and dedication; working consistently and working smartly.
The minister also mentioned that Nagaland has more than 11 percent (Gross Domestic Product) GDP growth and emphasized that networking is key to creating a prosperous state, as it opens up opportunities and drives success.
He expressed concern about the reluctance of literate individuals to engage in hard work and called on young entrepreneurs to lead by example. He said by working diligently, they can inspire others and push innovation and development forward.
Along also highlighted the importance of upgrading not just in clothing and appearances but also their thought processes.
He also applauded the chief minister of Nagaland for setting an example by introducing new technologies and establishing initiatives like the State Innovation Hub to meet the state’s evolving needs.
He proudly pointed out that Nagaland is the only state in India with a dedicated music department, showcasing its forward-thinking approach.
He urged everyone to appreciate one another, focus on their responsibilities, and remain committed to their agendas. He concluded by congratulating entrepreneurs for their achievements, encouraging them to stay strong in their networking, work hard, and aim high.
The event began with a welcome address by chairman of the Management Board, Central Plaza Medoze-U Rio, invocation prayer by associate pastor BRC Kohima, Thinuohelie Sachü.
A brief yet inspiring speech was delivered by proprietor of Rhö.Lè Enterprise, Rhovelü Soho, who was recognized as a recipient of the Women Leaders in Skill Development Award.
The audience was enthralled by a special song performed by Nourhengunuo Zatsu.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by secretary of the Management Board, Central Plaza Khrietuo Yhome.
