The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has appealed the Department of Power to ensure regular supply of electricity during the exam season.

Contending that load shedding might be unavoidable in summers due to high demand, DNSU general secretary Michael Kath and assistant general secretary Azo Wetsah in a press release urged the department to empathise with the student community during the exam season and ensure that students were not affected by irregular power supply.

They also expressed concern over complaints from students and parents about loud noises/music emanating from different melas and night carnivals.

They appealed all the organisers to strictly follow the directives of the administration and police, and refrain from playing loud music afterhours, which was punishable by law.
They requested the authorities to conduct routine checks to ensure that their directives were being followed.

They stressed that giving permission in urban areas should be avoided in the future, and these activities be shifted to more isolated locations. Further, the DNSU leaders wished all the aspirants for their exams.
