The Nagaland Dobashi Association (NDBA) began its two-day 22nd triennial conference-cum-63rd anniversary celebration, under the theme “Strengthening the spirit of Naga Laws and its practices”, on Thursday at the P Shilu Ao Park in Mokokchung.
Speaking as the chief host, the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji described that the erstwhile British Rule India treated the Dobashis as the beacon of dependable administrative communicators, who were men of integrity and trustworthy with great communications skills, along with their great knowledge of customs and traditions.
Since then, the chief host added that the institution of Dobashi has come a long way, in dispensing the customary laws justly as being an active ears, eyes, hands and legs of the administration.
Therefore, Thsuvisie was optimistic that the future generation of the Dobashi institution would carry on the legacy deep integrity.
Earlier, the presidential pddress was delivered by NDBA president, Vikheho Sema and short speech by GBs Association Mokokchung, Along Jamir. A traditional tune was presented by Kohima District Dobashis. The inaugural conference invocation was said by CBC pastor, Limanungla while the benediction was said by SBC (Aizuto) pastor, Hollohoton Yetho.
