Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Speaker Sharingain Longkumer attended the 4th Literature Festival on February 1 in Kokrajhar, Assam. He was accompanied by chief executive member, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Pramod Boro and dignitaries from around the globe.


A press release issued by Sr. Spl. PS to the Speaker informed that Longkumer appreciated and acknowledged the important initiatives undertaken by Bodoland Territorial Council led by chief executive member, Pramod Boro and his team for conceptualizing the First Literature Festival in the Northeast, and at the same time bringing cultures and diverse ethnic people together.


The Speaker appreciated the sincere and meticulous efforts of the Boro people in steadfastly pursuing the visions of a peaceful, progressive and vibrant Bodoland. He emphasized the importance of creating a unified platform “For tribal brothers without border”.

Encouraging the Bodo people, Longkumer echoed the clarion call of chief minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio on “Peace for development and development for peace” while preserving identity. He expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the chief minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for encouraging and sincerely supporting the aspirations of the BTR.
