The 3rd annual sports week at Norman Putsure College, Chümoukedima, concluded successfully on February 14, after four days of intense competition, spirit, and camaraderie. The event featured participation from four houses—Aqua, Ignis, Terra, and Ventus.
The action-packed week saw a wide range of games, including badminton, football, javelin throw, obstacle race, basketball, tug of war, bamboo stilt race, volleyball, bamboo pole climbing, arm wrestling, kho-kho, chess, and many more.
The competition was fierce, and each house showcased incredible talent, determination, and teamwork. After a thrilling week of competition, the Ventus house emerged as the overall winner, claiming the coveted Winner Trophy and cementing their place as the top house of the event.
Addressing the students, Norman Putsure College principal Dr. K. Timothy Hau emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and participation in sports. He encouraged students to engage with enthusiasm and team spirit, reminding them of the role sports play in the holistic development of individuals. “Creating a space of inclusivity,” he said, “is vital to provide an equal platform for all students in the college community.”
The 3rd Annual Sports Week, though exhausting, was marked by the high competitive spirit of the players, who demonstrated passion, energy, and a zest for victory.
The vibrant sportsmanship exhibited by the Normanians during the event made the conclusion of the Sports Week an unforgettable experience, celebrating the collective efforts of all four houses in making the event a great success.
