A free medical camp for police personnel and families and district administration staff was conducted by Phek police on February 18. The initiative was led by Phek Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Pritpal Kaur. Dr. Kaur expressed gratitude to the doctors and medical team for their support.
She emphasized the importance of regular health check-ups for early diagnosis and treatment. She also urged the people to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Stressing the dangers of smoking, alcohol, and substance abuse, she encouraged everyone to prioritize preventive healthcare.
Dr. Kaur also highlighted the role of physical exercise in combating lifestyle diseases like
hypertension and diabetes, and advised everyone to take up sports or creative hobbies to maintain mental well-being.
During the camp, doctors provided awareness on HIV and AIDS, tobacco control, hepatitis and other health concerns. During the camp, medical screenings for blood pressure, diabetes and other ailments were carried out. Earlier, Veruyoyi Khesoh, pastor, Police Baptist Church, Phek invoked God’s blessings while welcome address was delivered by Additional SP Phek, Bendangtemjen Jamir.
