Dihoma Village Council holds village meeting-cum-gathering

The Dihoma Village Council (DVC) held its first village-wide meeting cum gathering at the Dihoma Village Panchayat Hall on February 26 with Rtd Director Zeneituo Yano, and associate professor Dr. Vinyühou Lhoungu as the speakers of the day.
Zeneituo Yano, emphasized the importance of preserving village heritage, fostering unity, and cultivating moral integrity. He also spoke on the villages historical background, and the need for educated people to lead the village forward. He emphasized the critical importance of preserving Dihoma’s rich cultural heritage, reminding attendees of the sacrifices made by their forefathers.
Yano stressed the need for fostering unity among residents, urging them to cultivate moral integrity and discipline in their daily lives. He also gave a historical background of the village, and elaborated on how the village had evolved, and stressed the need for educated people to lead the village into the future, replacing the warriors of the past with educated leaders of the present. He highlighted the importance of programs such as this to strengthen communication.
Dr. Vinyühou Lhoungu highlighted the increasingly competitive nature of today’s job market, emphasizing that traditional avenues were no longer the sole path to success. He encouraged villagers to explore diverse career paths, including entrepreneurship, sports, and entertainment, emphasizing the need for a “Plan B.”
He also stressed the importance of preserving the village’s history and biodiversity, suggesting detailed surveys and record-keeping. He further advocated for strengthening communication among villagers, particularly within peer groups, to encourage the exchange of new ideas and collaborative problem-solving.
EAC, Neisiezo Theünuo, also shared his personal journey to success, detailing the challenges and triumphs he faced in his pursuit of success.
Leaders of various village organizations – Dihoma Students Union, Dihoma Women Society, Dihoma Village Youth and Sports Organisation and Dihoma Village Development Board, provided brief overviews of their respective functions, ensuring community awareness. Chairman of the Dihoma Village Council Thepfuneilhou Yashü, earlier delivered the greetings, who also highlighted the village rules.
The programme also featured the felicitation of three individuals who successfully cleared the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) and Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) examinations: Neisiezo Theünuo, Neikerhienuo Lhoungu, and Neitho-o Yashü.
