Ao Baptist Church Association (ABAM) organized a farewell program on February 27 to honor Rev. Dr. Prof. Mar Pongener, the outgoing Executive Secretary, as he assumes his new role as the General Secretary of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC).
A press release from ABAM president Rev. Ayutemjen informed that the event marked the conclusion of his leadership journey with ABAM and celebrated his accomplishments, filled with mixed memories and enthusiastic wishes for his endeavors. He was the seventh Executive Secretary of ABAM.
In his farewell speech, Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener expressed gratitude to his wife and children, the ABAM secretaries and staff, Longjang Baptist Church, his relatives, and fellow pastors for their significant support throughout his four years of service in ABAM.
He acknowledged that they have been his pillars during this time and asked for forgiveness for any mistakes he may have made during his tenure. He wished the new Executive Secretary the best and expressed hope for great achievements. ABAM also congratulated Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener on being appointed as the General Secretary of NBCC.
