The much-anticipated Symbios 6th Pow-woW 2025 National Level Youth Festival commenced with a grand inaugural ceremony at the Amphitheatre of Tetso College on March 3.
The week-long festival, running from March 3 to 7 has brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests from various institutions across the Northeast to celebrate youth, culture, and excellence.
The festival features several departmental events, including Lit Fest – ‘Magnum Opus’, Psyche Fest – ‘Eunoia’, Radiance 2.0 – ‘Excellence Through Innovation’, and Ling Fest – ‘Connecting Generations’.
The opening ceremony was graced by CO 1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC Kohima Col. Lovlesh Panghal, as the special guest. In his keynote address, Col. Panghal emphasized the importance of perspective and understanding opportunities within the socio-economic and cultural landscape.
He encouraged students to develop competence, stating that there is no room for mediocrity in today’s competitive world. He also urged participants to make the most of their time over the next five days. principal Dr. Hewasa L Khing extended a warm welcome, expressing her excitement in hosting participants from over thirty institutions across and beyond Nagaland.
She highlighted the state’s potential to excel in various fields and encouraged students to embrace global competition, learn, and grow. She also reiterated Tetso College’s mission: “Empowering People Towards Lifelong Excellence.”
An Oath-Taking ceremony, led by vice principal Dr. Rosy Tep, saw students pledging their commitment to excellence, integrity, and camaraderie. Additionally, Fest convenor Dr. Rajesh Tanti underscored the festival’s evolution over the years and acknowledged the event’s sponsors.

Performances and hosts
The inaugural programme featured captivating performances by the Tetso Choir and a special presentation by Kitoka Mulu (BMus 2nd Semester). Hosting duties were undertaken by Chisholi H Chisho (BA 4th Semester, English) and Tokhuo Humtsoe (MA 4th Semester, English).
The festival is set to continue with an array of cultural, literary, and academic activities, promising a dynamic and enriching experience for all participants.
