The Phek District Archery Association (PDAA) has launched a series of archery coaching camps aimed at nurturing young talent and promoting the sport across the district.

The initiative, led by PDAA President Dr. Chotisuh Sazo and Vice President Razuvolie Dozo, seeks to provide specialized training to students in various schools, fostering the growth of archery in Phek.

The coaching camps are being conducted with the help of certified NIS coaches Besuta Vero and Khosazo Thisa, who will train students in archery skills and techniques. The first three-day camp was successfully held at Government High School (GHS), Chetheba, from March 10 to 12, and the camps will continue at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Chozuba, from March 13 to 15, followed by Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Phek, and Government High School (GHS), Losami in the subsequent days.

As part of the initiative, PDAA is providing participating schools with essential training gear, including two buttresses, two bow sets, and two target faces of 80cm and 122cm, ensuring that students have the tools they need to develop their skills effectively.
This initiative builds on the efforts of PDAA to advance archery in the district.

In 2022, the association collaborated with DLCW-Mahila Shakti Kendra (BBBP) and the District Administration to conduct a free coaching camp at Chozuba Government Higher Secondary School, which produced several medal-winning archers at prestigious competitions, including the Nagaland Olympic, North East Olympic, and National Archery Championships.

With this renewed effort, PDAA aims to continue fostering excellence in archery and provide young archers with a platform to compete at higher levels.
