The Wokha District Administration, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, District Hub for Empowerment of Women under Mission Shakti, and the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), successfully organized the Melodious Lady of Wokha solo singing competition at Tiyi Hall, Wokha.

The grand finale, held on March 17, celebrated the musical talents of young female singers from the district. Addressing the event, Wokha Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar emphasized that the competition aimed to showcase local talent and provide a platform for aspiring artists.

He encouraged participants to focus on their performance rather than the outcome, highlighting the value of participation. The competition featured two categories—one for contestants below 18 years and another for those above 18. The winners were as follows:
Above-18 Category: 1st Place: Merilo Y. Tsopoe, 2nd Place: Chumchano Ngullie and 3rd Place: Eliyani Kokon.

Below-18 Category: 1st Place: Khonzani Ovung, 2nd Place: Lochumbeni Kokon and 3rd Place: Thungrhoni Ezung.

The esteemed panel of judges included Obed Kath, vocalist of Divine Connection and winner of MTV Rock On 2011; David Ngullie, proprietor of Bravo School of Music; singer and folk songwriter Renchilo Lotha; and piano and vocal instructor Emi Odyuo Kithan.
The event was a resounding success, bringing together music enthusiasts and offering a stage for young women to shine in the world of music. (DIPR)
