AKM and ZSUN direct educational institutions to observe minute of silence

The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) and Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) will be observing a solemn occasion to honor the supreme sacrifices of Lt. Kekuojalie Sachü of Kohima Village and Lt. Vikhozo Yhoshü of Kigwema Village, who laid down their lives for the cause of the Naga people.


AKM: In a press release, AKM appealed all educational institutions under its jurisdiction to observe one minute of silence on March 20, to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by their martyrs. AKM said that this collective act of reverence aims to instil a sense of gratitude and reflection among the younger generation, reminding them of the values of justice, unity, and peace that their martyrs stood for. Additionally, this years’ observance marks a significant milestone- the 25th anniversary of the NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy.


Furthermore, AKM reiterated the importance of recognizing and preserving the legacy of those who have contributed to the progress and dignity of their people.
They look forward to the cooperation of all concerned in ensuring that this tribute is observed with due solemnity and respect.


ZSUN: The Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) has appealed to all educational institutions to kindly adhere to this solemn directive. In a press release, organising secretary ZSUN, Asap Zeliang requested all schools, colleges, and educational establishments to observe one minute of silence on March 20, at their respective institutions, as a mark of respect and remembrance for the bravery and sacrifices of their martyrs.


The union called upon the people to come together in honoring their contributions to their cause and preserving their legacy for future generations.
