On receiving telephonic information from Police Control Room on March 19 at around 6 am, stating that one female dead body was found lying opposite to CP office Dimapur, the duty party rushed to the spot and found one female dead body (45-50 yrs) lying on the footpath near Baroda Bank ATM Booth.
According to PRO/Dy. Commissioner of Police, the inquest was conducted upon the dead body in the presence of witnesses. The deceased was suspected to be a street beggar and is suspected to have died due to starvation.
On completion of all legal formalities the dead body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur Morgue for PM examination/identification.
The deceased was found wearing black and red Adidas jacket, one red sacred thread tied on the left wrist, two faded silver bangles on the right wrist, left leg ankle tied with black thread and navy-blue long pant.
In a separate incident, on received of the information on March 20 at around 1 pm, the duty officer of Dimapur police along with duty party rushed to the spot and found one unidentified male dead body (non-local) aged around 50-55 yrs (approx.) lying dead inside the Rail Track suspected to be run over by a running train.
The body was found at KM 261/8-9 Khatkhati side. On completion of all legal formalities, the dead body was shifted to District Hospital Morgue for PM examination and identification.
The deceased was wearing black long pant, black half pant, coffee coloured underwear, maroon coloured sweater, red and black stripe shirt and a waist belt.
