DoSE conducts block-level

The Department of School Education (DoSE) conducted a one-day block-level training and sensitization programme for school heads, SMC/SMDC chairman/secretaries and parent representatives under community mobilisation from March 17 to 21.


The first phase covered four EBRC blocks in Phek, three in Kiphire, five in Mokokchung, five in Kohima, three in Mon, and four in Zunheboto districts. The programme was facilitated by officials from the Directorate of School Education, Samagra Shiksha, and Nagaland Education Project- the Lighthouse (NECTAR).


Of the six teams covering 23 EBRC blocks, the Zunheboto team, consisting of Deputy Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, Chungngam Konyak, JEO of the Directorate of School Education, Thepfunyunyu Solo, and Rokosieno Yano, Kanoho, and Vitasta from NECTAR, conducted the training and sensitization programme from March 17 to 19.


They covered four EBRC blocks, with a total of 333 participants from various education sectors. The sessions featured highlights of programmes and areas of intervention by the Department of School Education, presented by the deputed officers and representatives in their respective fields and was followed by awareness training on the roles and responsibilities of SMC/SMDC.


Deputy Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha, Chungngam Konyak, covered topics such as NIPUN Bharat, Kala Utsav, inclusive education, APAAR, SMC/SMDC roles, PM-SHRI, vocational education, and community participation in education.

JEO, Directorate of School Education, Thepfungunyu Solo, discussed PM-Poshan, ULLAS, free textbooks and uniforms, science fair, and meritorious scholarships and awards on behalf of DoSE.

Representing NECTAR, Rokosieno Yano, presented key initiatives under the NECTAR project and a summary of grant disbursements under the Performance Incentives Grant.
