The Phek District Archery Association (PDAA) has culminated its maiden free archery coaching camp at Government High School (GHS) Losami.

In a press release, general secretary PDAA, Besuta Vero, expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders, acknowledging the indispensable role of individuals, organizations, and institutional heads in facilitating the coaching camp’s triumph.

While conceding that the coaching initiative posed formidable challenges, Besuta Vero underscored the profoundly rewarding experience of witnessing burgeoning young archers exhibiting unwavering interest and perseverance in this nascent sport.

Vero also extended heartfelt appreciation to PDAA president Dr. Chotisuh Sazo and the association’s members for their unwavering support and motivation. Furthermore, the association expressed deep gratitude to State Archery Coach from the Department of Youth Resources and Sports (DYRS), Kohima, Hunezo Thisa, for his invaluable guidance and backing.

The coaching camp attracted an impressive participation of over 100 students from four government schools: GHS Chetheba, GHS Losami, GHSS Phek, and GHSS Chozuba. As the PDAA endeavors to expand its outreach, it plans to encompass more institutions in the future and organize a District Archery Championship in the forthcoming month.

The coaching camp was conducted by NIS-qualified coaches Khosazo Thisa and Besuta Vero, whose technical acumen and pedagogical expertise proved instrumental in fostering a conducive learning environment.

With this inaugural coaching camp, the PDAA has firmly established its commitment to promoting archery in the district, and its future endeavors are eagerly anticipated.
