The Nagaland Chess Association will be organizing the first-ever Grand Master Chess Coaching Camp in Kohima, under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation, from March 27 to 29, at the Nagaland Olympic Association Hall.
40 Chess players from Nagaland have been registered to undergo the three days training program. GM Tejas Bakre, Gujarat’s first GM and one of the top players in India, a professional Chess coach and a FIDE senior trainer, will be the coach during the coaching sessions.
The camp will provide expert guidance to the trainees, comprehensively covering both theoretical and practical aspects of Chess. To identify and correct weaknesses in their games, helping them develop a solid foundation in chess fundamentals, improve strategic thinking, refine their opening repertoire, enhance calculation and tactical skills, and ultimately reach their full potential.
It may be noted that no chess coaching camp has ever been conducted by a chess expert in Nagaland. This is the second time that a Grand Master has ever visited Nagaland, the first being during the Chess Olympiad Torch Relay at the Heritage, Kohima in 2022.
