Norman Putsure College organized a photography workshop on April 2 in Chumoukedima featuring J. Adam Huggins, an acclaimed Canadian photographer and photojournalist.
Huggins, known for his contributions to The New York Times, ELLE Magazine, and Der Spiegel, shared his expertise on travel and documentary photography with students and photography enthusiasts.
With a career spanning over 20 countries, Huggins has captured compelling visual narratives of manual laborers, fishermen, and marginalized communities in regions such as Japan, Alaska, and the Congo. During the workshop, he emphasized photography as both an artistic pursuit and a research-driven medium, underscoring its significance in visual storytelling.
The session featured an interactive discussion where Huggins provided technical insights and conceptual perspectives drawn from his global experience. His works, which have been showcased at prestigious venues including the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Shanghai Art Museum, served as an inspiration for budding photographers looking to make an impact in the field.
