In a display of solidarity, a mass reunion programme was held under the leadership of senior Naga Army officials at the general headquarters of Kitovi-led GPRN/NSCN located at the designated Khehoi Camp on Wednesday.
According to Kitovi-led GPRN/NSCN the group had been divided for the past 11 months due to interference from unwanted elements that disrupted their cohesion. IT said the re-union featured top brass from both the groups, symbolising a crucial turning point in their efforts to overcome the recent challenges and re-establish their collective mission.
Further, GPRN/NSCN said official handshake between chief of army ‘maj. gen.’ Kiyehe Yepthomi and ‘brig.’ Kiyeto Zhimomi of GSO-1 not only aimed to mend relationships but also strengthen their strategic direction moving forward, demonstrating their commitment to the Naga cause.
It also stated that more than 200 GPRN/NSCN Naga Army members came together with a message for all Nagas, “Too many lives have been lost in the hand of Naga brothers and Indian Army as well, while defending the nation. Today, it is in our hands to steadfastly stand as one and do the immediate needful for our nation.”
It said members gathered to be a witness and testament for all Naga political groups through shaking of hands among brothers and march forward with grit and honour. It said , no matter how difficult the journey may be for peace and harmony, this would send a powerful message across nations and a strong step towards early Indo-Naga political solution.
