World Art Day 2025 was commemorated with vibrant enthusiasm at the Toyota KI premises in Kisama, Nagaland on April 15. The event, organized by the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), in collaboration with local colors, centered around the global theme: “A garden of expression: Cultivating community through art.”
The celebration brought together artists, students, and members of the public to honor creativity as a force for community building and cultural expression.
North East Regional Head of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd., Sachin Sharma attended the event as the special guest. Also in attendance was Managing Director of Okusa Toyota Y. Vikheho Swu. In his address, Sharma emphasized the role of art in promoting social cohesion and personal development. He reaffirmed Toyota’s ongoing commitment to supporting artistic and cultural endeavors in the region.
The programme was chaired by Aleno Sale, while the welcome address was delivered by Chairman of TaFMA Theja Meru. The event also featured a musical performance by Nchumbemo Yanthan and an overview of the day’s activities by Among Venuh from Local Colors and vote of thanks by Program Coordinator . Adu Keditsu.
As part of the day’s celebrations, an art competition was organized with participation from students across several educational institutions.
The winners were:
1st Place: Keletho Zashumo, Phesama S.T. Paul School
2nd Place: Sanchen Jamir, Coraggio School, Kohima
3rd Place: Bautuk S. Phom, Minister Higher Secondary School, Kohima
The competition encouraged young participants to creatively interpret the theme through visual art, fostering both expression and community engagement.
