The two days annual games and sports of Government Middle School Longya Ward Kiphire concluded on Wednesday with DPO, LRD Kiphire, Lipichum as special guest.

In his speech, the special guest stated that students attending this school are fortunate because many couldn’t afford to attend. He asserted that whether a person is interested in becoming successful in the future should not determine by whether they attend government or private schools.

He said that Government is providing enough opportunities and facilities to government schools, therefore students should give interest in their studies.

The special guest, Lipichem, said that he has observed many talented students in government schools. Therefore, he urged the students to give more effort in studying and explore their talents without hesitation. He further said that sports is another curriculum invested by schools to make students fit. He therefore asked the students to do their best in sports as well.

Head teacher of the school Tsipise Antony, who delivered a keynote address at the programme, also welcomed the guests. Executive engineer of PHED Kiphire, Er. Akok Sair, also attended the programme and declared the opening of the school sports.

The SMC chairman of the school, Pisaliba, and his officials also attended the inaugural programme. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Madam Therila.
