Alder college, Kohima, hosted the fourth edition of its annual two-day cultural extravaganza, Alder Fest, on April 16 and 17. The much-anticipated event brought together students from various colleges across the city, offering a dynamic platform for showcasing talent, strength, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Day one of the festival kicked off with energy and excitement as participants competed in the open arm wrestling and open fitness challenge, drawing strong contenders from across Kohima. Vibo Neikha emerged victorious in the arm wrestling competition, while Luvoto Rhakho claimed the title in the Fitness Challenge.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, the open mic session provided a stage for budding performers to share their talents in music, dance, spoken word, and poetry, captivating the audience with a wide range of creative expression.
The highlight of day two was the Inter-college naga wrestling competition, which drew 22 participants from institutions across the city. In a display of strength and traditional prowess, Khriesavituo Nakhro of St. Joseph’s college was crowned champion.
The celebrations culminated in a high-energy musical finale featuring electrifying performances by Savizo and DJ Sanna from Infinity Inc., leaving the crowd buzzing with excitement.
In addition to competitions and performances, Alder Fest 2025 featured food and game stalls organized by the students. These stalls not only added flavor to the fest but also provided students with a practical experience in entrepreneurship and management.
